MORE THAN A SURPRISE VISIT

BY Aiyegbusi Joan Anuoluwa

Ken and Clara just started dating, Clara had never been to Ken’s place though she knew His address, she wanted to do something spontaneous and exciting so she decided to pay Ken a surprise visit. The visit left a resounding effect on Clara as pertaining to her personality and her Date. When she got there, Guess what he saw? Did you just say another girl? No! Far from it! She saw something that made her reconsider her choice of dating Ken.

Clara 's parents were both medical doctors , she was raised to be clean and maintained personal hygiene, Clara values cleanliness so much that that she views almost everything through the eyes of cleanliness. Ken on the other hand was raised as the only Son of his parents; he was never used to house cleanliness since they had maids to handle house work. Now that Ken is on His own, He doesn't even know he should sweep his house.  The day Clara paid Ken a visit; Ken had not swept his room in for a whole week. You can imagine the scenario Clara met.  After that visit, Clara asked herself if she was ready to marry and live with that kind of man for the rest of her life.

The moment you become born again, you are in a relationship with Jesus, but He doesn't just pay you visit, He stays with you. Ensure to be clean (Holy) at all times. No matter how holy you were, or you are. Strive for more. No matter how you swept your house yesterday, you have to sweep it today. Why? Dirt is always settling on surfaces, it doesn't care about how thoroughly you cleaned yesterday, it will come again and to remain clean, you must clean again and again.

When last did you clean up before God? More than Clara, He esteems cleanliness; just as you want a clean and hygienic spouse, God wants the same from us as well. The world will never stop attempts to pollute our minds just as dirt will always come despite how well you cleaned; we must consciously make effort to come before God every day for purification and sanctification; presenting ourselves as a pleasant fragrance to God, our lover. If you stay away from God, more worldly dirt will continue to accumulate in your life until God cannot even look at you again; for He cannot behold iniquity.
Don't wait until it gets that bad!
