How to Establish and Maintain Friendship
The Story of Annabel: Annabel had no friends, and this made her sad. Other girls had friends but she was always alone. One evening, as she sat in front of their house, Alice stopped by to greet and requested her to accompany her to a friend living in the next street. “I will go with you again next time,” Annabel said at the end of their visit. She was excited and thought that at last she had found a friend. But Alice had boyfriends, Tony, Mike and Vin, with whom she was sleeping.
Eventually Annabel and Alice became friends, but their lives were opposite.  Alice wanted Annabel to have a boyfriend, but she was too scared about it.  Her parents would be mad with her. Besides, she wanted to keep her virginity until marriage.  The pressure from Alice became very unbearable.  Annabel had to agree with her or drop her.
Finally she dropped Alice, although it was a difficult decision, since she needed a friend. She reasoned that a good friend would be someone who shared her values.

To establish means to begin something on a firm or permanent basis.   Friendship formation is an attempt to build a close relationship with someone. “Birds of the same feather flock together.” Two cannot walk together unless they agree.  People with common interests move together as friends.  Annabel had to choose to have a boyfriend and retain Alice, or drop Alice and maintain her virginity.  You need people of the same interests as good friends.  Think very well before choosing a friend. Observe the person carefully before committing yourself.
